Lorraine Schmidt was born in the Bronx, New York on November 9th 1947. She left this world surrounded by family in her home in Marietta GA on March 2nd 2013. Lorraine loved art, laughter, travel, music, nature and dance, but her greatest delight was spending time with family and friends. She was teacher by trade and retired after 23 years. Lorraine was a kind and gentle soul whose strongest care was for others; her love and generosity were without limit. She gave of herself freely with kind words, warm smiles and soft advice. She was a wonderful mother, proud grandmother and dear friend who guided and touched countless lives. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Pauline and Hugo Luoni. Lorraine’s spirit will continue to shine through in the lives of her two sons, Justin and Jeremy Schmidt, their wives, Dana and Song-Hee, her grandchildren, Peyton Sophia and Morgan Olivia of Justin and Dana and Jeremy and Song-Hee’s unborn son Griffin along with so many other loving family and friends. A celebration of her life will be held at 11am on Saturday March 9th at the Callaway Gardens Cathedral at 17800 US Hwy 27, Pine Mountain, GA 31822.
