Commission Chair candidates forum …

New blood — We need some new blood. Lee and Byrne have had their day, now let someone like Mike Boyce have a chance. The debates would give all of us an opportunity to hear all of the candidates. Why is Lee afraid of debating? Believe me, if he thought he would do well, he would agree to them.

Sad but true — We will be paying for Bill Byrne’s Bedminster mess for many years to come. We need new leadership, not a rehash of our miserable past. Not Lee and not Byrne.

A Taxpayer — A debate would be fatal to Tim Lee’s campaign. After all, how would he answer his opponents’ questions, such as “Why do you support more tax-and-spend money-grabbing schemes like the TSPLOST?” and “Why do you want to raise millage rates on Cobb homeowners?” “Taxing Tim” Lee (i.e. RINO) would get slammed in a debate, which is why he prefers to avoid one.

Cousins? — Is our Rockmart Bill Byrne related to Marietta’s Bill Byrne?

Front Runners — generally do not need to debate. It is always the underdog, begging for attention. No reason the chairman should give this yahoo any more press that he is already getting. On the other hand, it might be fun to see Lee bait him and watch Byrne lose his cool!

Byrne past disasters — Let’s hold a debate about Byrne and Bedminster

EastCobbLine — Did you all see the article Sunday about Byrne and ARC? I mean I get the debate thing but saying the “Atlanta Regional Commission is ‘the United Nations of the Atlanta region,’“ is pretty ridiculous. It really seems to me that Byrne wants to go back 20 years. Good luck with that.

COBBCSI — Bill better make sure Tim doesn’t have a Bluetooth in his ear for Sam Olens to give him the answers. Or somebody from the chamber but then Bill’s going against his chamber buddies!!

Byrne regression — I will be voting for Lee. Putting you head in the sand by ignoring the region is not going to allow Cobb to compete with Gwinnett or the other metro counties. We need someone forward thinking not the out of control Byrne or Savage the country club candidate.

Debate Watcher — Saw the Debate. Other than Lee not a lot of difference on positions. Byrne was Byrne ... not that that is bad. Larry Savage seemed relaxed and Confident ... a worthy Challenger. Mike Boyce answered the questions but needs to show that Marine spirit ... more confidence. Lee mumbled his way through it. For Speaking ability and making their points it was Byrne and Savage.

Development Authority slams Cobb Chamber over transparency …

Careful Observer — Perhaps if Thea Powell had attended the necessary and required training courses when she was first appointed to the board she would know much more about the way the Board operates and what is expected of its members.

Gwinnett ED —| This needs to be part of a manual”??!! Best part, by far. Absolutely hilarious. Just complete bush league, second rate, double A baseball, with ridiculous characters and a gullible and willing paper! Perfect! You guys keep it up, please. You do realize this makes it very hard to lure new business to your county, right?

Just Wait — I know this might be a stretch, but if your from Gwinnett “Gwinnett ED,” the politics in your county make Cobb’s a shining example of how to do it right!
