Chase Burks got the win for Walton (2-0), striking out eight and holding Sprayberry (1-1) to a hit and two walks over five innings.
Walton will host Union Grove on Saturday, while Sprayberry will host Harrison.
Whitefield Academy 16, North Springs 7 (5 inn.): A nine-run fourth inning was the difference as the Wolfpack dominated the Class AAAAA team.
Whitefield (2-0) sent 15 batters to the plate in the fourth.
Bailey Combs batted 4-for-5 with a double, triple and four RBIs, while Matt Olson was 2-for-4 with three RBIs.
Olson was also the winning pitcher in relief of Combs, striking out six over three innings.
Whitefield will make the short trip to Pebblebrook on Wednesday.
Lassiter 18, Mill Creek 7: The Lady Trojans had 10 goals by halftime and cruised to the non-area win.
Alex Fusco scored a team-high five goals, while Alana Abbott, Lucy Mills and Jill Rankin each had three. Cydney Tutchton scored twice, with Mary Carter Putman and Claire Goodall scoring one apiece.
Cara Anderson had five saves for Lassiter (2-0), which will be off until traveling to Woodstock for an Area 2AAAAAA match March 4.
Pope 3, Harrison 2: A trio of straight-set victories helped the Greyhounds win the all-Cobb match.
Austin Bates and Michael Busby prevailed in singles play, allowing one and four games, respectively. The No. 1 doubles team of Ryan Heins and Mark Fisher won 6-2, 6-4.
Harrison needed second-set tiebreakers for its points. Bradley Singh won 6-2, 7-6 (6) at No. 2 singles, while Dylan Harvey and Matthew Griffin won 6-3, 7-6 (3) at No. 2 doubles.
Pope (1-0) will travel to Region 7AAAAA rival North Springs on Tuesday, while Harrison (0-1) will host Woodstock on Monday.
Allatoona 5, New Manchester 0: The Buccaneers didn’t allow a game in their season-opening Region 5AAAAA match.
Michael Allen, Austin Spires and Kyle Geiss swept the singles points. Keenan Shaw and Justin Cumbie won at No. 1 doubles, with Zack Gibson and Josh Cumbie winning at No. 2.
Allatoona (1-0, 1-0) will resume region play Tuesday at Villa Rica.

Harrison 3, Pope 2: Liv Powers and Mika Sugai clinched the first win of the season for Harrison with a 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 2 doubles.
Meredith Frost won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2 singles for the Lady Hoyas (1-1) and No. 1 doubles pair Renee Zalar and Jaclyn Black contributed a 6-3, 6-1 triumph.
Pope kept things interesting after Nisha Detchprohm won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 singles and Eliza-Lee Barnes posted a 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 3 singles.
Pope will host Sprayberry today, while Harrison is at South Cobb on Thursday.
