McEachern 5, North Cobb 2: Bruce Kirkpatrick pitched into the seventh inning and gave up just two runs giving up four hits and had five strikeouts.
The Indians scored runs in the fifth on a solo home run by Jerad Walker and Walker hit a sacrifice fly for an RBI to score Aaron Morris in the sixth.
Morris was 3-for-4 on the night and accounted for a two-run single in the second to put McEachern on the board. Trey Harris hit into a fielder’s choice for the third run.
Sam Stephens was 2-for-4 for McEachern with a run scored.
Ryan Schmitz was 1-for-2 for North Cobb and scored a run.
Kennesaw Mountain 1, South Cobb 0: After scoring their lone run in the first inning, the Mustangs held on to win a pitchers’ duel.
Opening Region 4AAAAAA play, and the new format of playing opponents twice in consecutive games, Kennesaw Mountain (5-2, 1-0) got its lone run when Tyler Stephenson drove in Tyler Adkins on a grounder. Adkins reached on a single, then stole a pair of bases.
Reggie Pruitt had a double for the Mustangs, with Alex Darwiche and Zach Goodman contributing singles.
Kennesaw Mountain’s Mitchell Hammonds and his South Cobb counterpart, Nathan Golden, each went the distance. Hammonds
struck out six and allowed a walk and two hits, while Golden struck out five and allowed a walk and four hits.
Tyler Randles and Avery Williams had South Cobb’s lone hits, with Williams’ a double.
Mount Paran Christian 9, Walker 0: Ryan Murphy went 2-for-4 and drove in three runs to lead the Eagles (7-0, 6-0) past their Region 6A foe.
Jake Landon went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI, and Jake Palomaki had a pair of doubles.
Jordan VerSteeg earned the win with four innings of one-hit ball while striking out eight.
Zach Mudge had two hits for the Wolverines (2-7, 2-4).
Whitefield Academy 9, North Cobb Christian 1: Whitefield trailed 1-0 at the end of the first inning, but rallied for three in the third to earn the Region 6A road win. The Wolfpack (4-3, 2-2) pounded out 14 hits and added three in the sixth and two more in the seventh.
David Lewis batted 4-for-5 with two RBIs for Whitefield, which also enticed six walks. Max Kemether was 3-for-5 with an RBI and Nile Ball had two RBIs.
Max Olson and Roc Sherrell each had two hits.
Everett Joiner allowed one first inning earned run off six hits and struck out three to get the victory.
Harrison 6, Cherokee 1 (10 inn.): Tied 1-all entering the top of the 10th inning, Harrison exploded for five runs in the frame and took the non-region road victory.
Ten batters came to the plate in the 10th, scoring the five runs off six hits. Tony Flores finished with two hits, a double and two runs scored, while Will Jones had three hits and two RBIs. Hunter Fortner also had an hit with two RBIs for Harrison (3-6), which totaled 10 hits.
Starter Ben Schniederjans gave up one earned run on four hits while striking out five in five innings. Andrew Patrick collected the win in relief, allowing one hit and striking out four in three innings pitched.
Hillgrove 16 Campbell 2 (5 inn.): Hillgrove scored four in the first, five in the second and six in third in running away for the Region 4AAAAAA win at home.
Tyler Weyenberg was 2-for-2 with a two-run home run in the second, and Matthew Vaccaro batted 4-for-4 with two homers, a triple and five RBIs. Brian Johnson had a RBI, two doubles and scored three times for the Hawks (4-3, 1-0), while Justin Haney had a hit and drove in three runs.
Chandler Joyner (2-0) gave up two earned runs off three hits and struck out four in four innings pitched.
Alex Jardin hit a 2-run homer in the first for Campbell.
Allatoona 9, Woodland-Bartow 4: Allatoona scored five runs in the top of the seventh to snap a 4-all tie and cruise the the Region 5AAAAA road win.
Andrew Fousch 2-RBI, 2-out double in the seventh helped seal the win for the Buccaneers (5-1, 2-0). T.J. Watson went 5 1/3 innings, allowing four runs — one earned — on six hits while striking out seven. Clark Schmidt pitched 1 2/3 innings of relief to get the win.
Pete Derkay had two hits, as did Cory Jacobson, who also had an RBI. Schmidt had one hit and three RBIs.
Lassiter 4, Cherokee 0: Robby Cutchin had a goal and an assist to help lift the Trojans (9-0, 2-0) to the Region 5AAAAAA victory.
Trey Luscre and Clay Dimick each scored, and David Cho added a goal that was assisted by Thomas Lowrey.
Campbell 9, McEachern 2: Jose Garcia scored four goals to lead the Spartans to the Region 4AAAAAA victory.
Andrej Richards had a goal and an assist. Monico Hernandez and Enrique Yenny each added two assists.
Pope 1, Osborne 0: Colin Huber’s header midway through the first half was the difference as the Greyhounds claimed the Region 7AAAAA contest.
Huber’s shot was set up by a cross by David Warfel.

Harrison 8, Hillgrove 1: Cole Guertin’s hat trick sparked the Hoyas to a lopsided win over their Region 4AAAAAA rival.
Nathan Vickroy scored twice, with Andrew Deltac, Ryan Sieracki and Thomas Cook contributing single goals. Deltac and Sieracki also had assists.
Kevin McKay and Zach DeFrank combined in goal to get the win for Harrison (6-2, 2-0).
Sprayberry 4, Sequoyah 3: Rodrigo Blankenship scored a pair of goals, including a penalty kick that capped the Yellow Jackets’ offense in the Region 7AAAAA game.
Antonio Valenzuela and Isaac Page also scored, with Valenzuela assisting on Page’s goal.
Eric Aguirre and Mackenzie Brackett manned the goal for Sprayberry (5-3, 2-1).
Mount Paran Christian 4, Darlington 1: Alex Gernatt scored a hat trick to lead the Eagles to the Area 7A victory.
Jay Dayton scored a goal and an assist for Mount Paran (2-2-1, 2-0), which led 3-1 at halftime. Cooper Ingram had two assists and Cole Gibbon added one.
Chance Hogan stopped 13 shots for the Eagles.
North Cobb 10, Marietta 0: Scarlett Rendon’s hat trick paced the Lady Warriors to a big Region 4AAAAAA victory.
Rachel Overley had two goals and three assists, Alana Algcaoili finished with two goals, and Sarah Smith, Jordan Pannell and Whitney Johnson each added one
Molly Mead had three assists and Catheryn Chase added two.
Kennesaw Mountain 3, Woodstock 0: The Lady Mustangs got their scoring out of the way early, scoring all of their goals in the first half of the non-region home game.
Vannah Moreleand, Olivia Guajardo and Madeline Monroe scored, with Guajardo and Tayler Hartrampf adding assists.
Meredith Bailey made six saves in recording the shutout for Kennesaw Mountain (4-5).
Mount Paran Christian 7, Darlington 1: Charlotte Dayton and Rachel VanHorn each scored two goals and one assist to lead the Lady Eagles to the Area 7A win.
Ali Ferm had two goals for Mount Paran (4-1, 3-0), which led 3-0 at halftime. Ally Atencio netted a goal and an assist. Renee VanHorn earned an assist. Goalkeeper Katie Sweeney had four saves.
Lovett 10, Walker 0: Walker’s players need to put their minds towards the next game and prepare accordingly following a home loss at the hands of Class AA’s fourth-ranked team.
McEachern 9, Campbell 6: The Indians got two goals from Kevon James and one from Tommy Staebler in the fourth quarter to break a 6-6 tie and lift them to an Area 1AAAAAA victory.
James finished the game with five goals and Staebler had two. Cameron Magee and Michael Rega each added a goal.
C.J. Norrell had 20 stops in goal.
Pope 15, Kell 10: Tyler Borko scored four goals to lead the Greyhounds to an Area 2A-AAAAA victory.
Jonny Sexton, Jeffrey Heim and Davis Glover each scored two goals.
Lambert 5, Walton 3: The Raiders kept it close but couldn’t win in Suwanee against the winner of the last two Class A-AAAAA state championships.
Walton (4-2) trailed 2-1 at halftime and 4-2 after the third quarter.
Kip Jones scored twice for the Raiders. Josh Perretz had a goal and an assist, and Michael Gernatt also had an assist.
Jake Hornberger made 11 saves for Walton.
Kell 10, Sprayberry 9: Kell scored the game-winner when Emily Swift scored on a penalty shot with 2:25 left.
It was the first time in the game that Kell took the lead after trailing 8-4 at the half.
Swift led the Lady Longhorns in scoring with four goals. Hannah Nemeck chipped in with three. Katie Kumberger had two goals and Izzy Palermo added one.
Kell (4-1, 2-0 Area 2A-AAAAA) scored two quick goals early in the second half to get within reach and tied it at 9-all with less than 5 minutes to play.
Chattahoochee 18, Harrison 13: Harrison saw its 10-9 halftime lead slip away in its non-area loss at home.
Merrick Laughridge had three goals and four assists for the Lady Hoyas (3-5), while Abbey Walker and Regan Payne each had two goals. Katie Define chipped in two goals and an assist.
Alexis Gray stopped 12 shots for Harrison.
Walker 5, Christian Heritage 0: The Wolverines won all but three games as they rolled to a Area 4A win.
