Madison Givens came off the bench and connected on two of her three 3-pointers in overtime to lift Sprayberry to a 63-58 victory over Forsyth Central in Region 7AAAAA play.

Diesha Brown led all scorers with 33 points, including making two free throws with 12 seconds left to send the game to overtime. Brown finished the night 15 of 17 from the line.

Kiersten Moore added seven points and 13 rebounds. Givens finished with nine points.

Sprayberry (2-2, 1-1) will host Kennesaw Mountain today.

Pope 62, Cambridge 36: Kierra Henry scored her 1,000th career point in a dominating performance as the Lady Greyhounds rolled to a Region 7AAAAA victory.

Henry just missed a triple-double, scoring 28 points with 10 rebounds and eight steals.

Bria Johnson scored nine points and Dyanna Freeman had eight.

Pope (4-2, 2-0) will host Rockdale County today.

Osborne 82, North Springs 9: A pair of 20-point scorers led the Lady Cardinals to a Region 7AAAAA romp.

Zutorya Cook scored 23, while Nikira Goings had 20 for Osborne, which will host Stephenson today.

Campbell 57, Kennesaw Mountain 30: Mikyla Wilson scored 18 points and pulled down five rebounds as the Lady Spartans rolled to a Region 4AAAAAA victory.

Aysha Joyner finished with 10 points and Julie McKee added nine in the win.

Campbell (2-2, 2-2) will host Marietta on Tuesday.

North Cobb 59, South Cobb 13: Kyrie’ Chandler scored 12 points to lead the Lady Warriors to a Region 4AAAAAA win.

Kristian Carter, Chantel Strahorn and Aniya Corely each had nine for North Cobb.

The Lady Warriors (5-2, 2-2) will travel to Harrison on Tuesday.

Hillgrove 56, Marietta 20: The Lady Hawks cruised to victory in their final tuneup ahead of Tuesday’s showdown with McEachern.

After clinging onto a two-point lead following the first quarter, Hillgrove (7-1, 4-0 Region 4AAAAAA) outscored Marietta by a 44-10 margin the rest of the way.

Mackenzie Engram led the Lady Hawks with 18 points, while Jalyn Reese added 10 and Zarriah Pierce nine.

Hillgrove will host McEachern in the neighboring teams’ first meeting of the season. The Lady Hawks swept the regular-season series in 2012-13, though they lost to their archrival in the region tournament.

Chandler Warren had seven points to lead Marietta.

Wheeler 45, Roswell 44: The Lady Wildcats took the lead with 3 minutes to play and held on for a Region 5AAAAAA win.

Tiara Steede led Wheeler with 18 points and seven rebounds, while Shanee Bailey and Lena Yoonis each added nine points.

The Lady Wildcats (4-3, 2-1) will host Etowah on Tuesday.

Lassiter 47, Walton 37: Maeve Vitale scored 15 of her game-high 23 points in the fourth quarter, allowing the Lady Trojans to pull away for the Region 5AAAAAA win.

Vitale also shot a perfect 8-for-8 from the free-throw line as Lassiter (3-4, 1-2), which only led by three entering the final quarter.

Hannah Patterson and Katie Dozier each had 13 for Walton (0-4, 0-2), which will travel to Lambert today.

Grace Keheley added six points for Lassiter, which will host North Springs today.

Mount Paran Christian 73, North Cobb Christian 32: Que Morrison had the first triple-double of her career with 14 points, 10 assists and 10 steals to lead Mount Paran Christian to a Region 6A victory.

Bri Brown scored 24 points with 10 rebounds, and she helped Mount Paran build a 45-16 lead at the half.

Taya Welch added 13 the win.

North Cobb Christian was led by Moriah Hidden’s 17 points.

Mount Paran (3-1, 1-0) will host Walker on Tuesday.

Shiloh Hills wins championship: Like their male counterparts, the Lady Challengers also won a title at the PCC Eagles Classic.

Shiloh Hills (9-3) got a 50-28 win Ben’s Ford Christian (La.) and a 57-24 win over Victory Christian (Fla.) on Thursday before wrapping up the tournament with a 35-30 win over in-state foe Old Suwanee.

Samantha Henderson, the tournament MVP, averaged 17 points and seven steals, while all-tournament honoree Hannah Manross added averages of 10 points, six rebounds and six steals.

Abigail Hendrix averaged seven points, and Kayla Allen six.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Marietta 56, Hillgrove 54:
Rayveon Thornton scored 13 points in his first varsity start to lead the Blue Devils to a Region 4AAAAAA victory.

Marietta trailed 43-38 heading to the final quarter, but outscored Hillgrove 18-11 in the final 8 minutes.

Cameron Jordan scored 11 points and Tyrell Tomlin added nine points and eight assists.

Kyle Castlin led the Hawks with 13 points and Antonio Wade added 11.

The Blue Devils (6-1, 3-1) at Campbell on Tuesday.

North Cobb 52, South Cobb 42: Mikah Woodard and Daniel Beuasejour combined to score 20 points in the fourth quarter to lift the Warriors to a Region 4AAAAAA victory.

North Cobb trailed 33-29 after three quarters, but outscored the Eagles 23-9 in the last 8 minutes.

Bequsejour scored eight of his game-high 17 during the run while Woodard scored 12 of his 14 points.

Darius Jones added two points and seven rebounds in the win.

James Coats score 14 points to lead South Cobb.

North Cobb (1-5, 1-3) will host Hiram today.

Walton 66, Lassiter 60: Overcoming their struggles on offense, the Raiders turned to their defense to guide the Region 5AAAAAA win and remain undefeated.

Walton (4-0, 2-0) forced 29 turnovers — 12 on steals — and got past a 29-percent success rate from the field, and a 48-percent rate at the free-throw line.

Jay Bowyer led the Raiders with 21 points. Elijah Weems added 16 and Maurice Gibson had 13. Nick Wells finished with 13 rebounds.

Justin Jackson led Lassiter (1-3, 0-3) with 20 points, while Pearson Van Horn added 16 and Evan Dunham 14.

Both teams will face Region 7AAAAA teams today, with Walton at Lambert and Lassiter hosting North Springs.

Sprayberry 80, Forsyth Central 53: David Tshamala had 20 points and eight rebounds to lead the Yellow Jackets to a Region 7AAAAA victory.

Maurion Screen connected on three first-quarter 3-pointers and five in the first half to help Sprayberry open a 40-21 lead at the half. Screen finished the game with 19 points.

Nkem Ojeh finished with 14 points and seven rebounds, and Armel Potter added seven points, 10 boards and seven assists in the win.

The Yellow Jackets (3-3, 3-0) will host Kennesaw Mountain today.

Kell 67, Creekview 56: Grant Bryant scored a game-high 22 points to lead the Longhorns to a Region 7AAAAA victory.

Kell trailed 28-21 at the half, but outscored the Grizzlies 45-28 in the second.

Kendrick Summerour scored 16 points and Qua Alexander added nine.

The Longhorns (2-4, 1-2) will host Harrison today.

North Springs 78, Osborne 74: Up nine at the break, the Cardinals allowed 51 second-half points and lost the Region 7AAAAA home game.

D’Haire Haney led Osborne (2-3, 0-2) with 27 points, while Kyrie Hogan added 15 and Jacquinton Thompson had a double-double of 10 points and 12 rebounds.

The Cardinals will resume region play Tuesday at Riverwood.

Pope 53, Cambridge 51: The Greyhounds held on to secure a narrow Region 7AAAAA victory in Milton.

Down 17-8 after the first quarter, Pope (5-1, 2-0) was able to rally to a 32-28 edge through three periods. The Greyhounds extended their lead to five before Cambridge hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer.

Garrick DeBowles led the Greyhounds with 16 points. Chase Hutchins added 11 and Tyler Borko 10.

Pope will step out of region play today to host Rockdale County.

North Cobb Christian 64, Mount Paran Christian 44: Stephon Jelks scored 15 points with 10 rebounds to lead North Cobb Christian to a Region 6A victory.

North Cobb Christian fell behind 8-0 before outscoring Mount Paran 15-4 to take the lead by the end of the first quarter.

Kendall Crute had 18 points, six rebounds and four blocks, Hunter Ware scored 10 points and Keyshawn Butts added five points and 10 boards.

Zack Strong had 11 points and 10 rebounds to lead Mount Paran.

North Cobb Christian (5-1, 1-0) will travel to King’s Ridge on Tuesday, while Mount Paran (0-2, 0-1) will travel to Walker.

Whitefield Academy 49, Fellowship Christian 46: The Wolfpack opened Region 6A play having to sweat out the win in Roswell.

Whitefield (2-0, 1-0) controlled the first quarter with a 10-2 margin, only to see the tables turned and Fellowship take an 18-14 lead into halftime. The Wolfpack then took control back with a 33-29 lead into the final period.

Eric Lockett led Whitefield with 12 points, while Brendon Myles and Courtney Alexander each had nine.

Whitefield will host St. Francis on Tuesday in a battle between potential Class A championship contenders.

Shiloh Hills gets tournament title: The Challengers tested their mettle against out-of-state competition, winning the PCC Eagles Classic at Pensacola (Fla.) Christian College.

Shiloh Hills (10-4) beat Grace (Ky.) 62-17 and Lebanon Christian (Pa.) 61-57 on Thursday before clinching the championship with a 56-45 win over Macon Road Christian (Tenn.) on Friday.

Tournament MVP Jon Allen averaged 21 points and seven rebounds over the three games. Austin Greenway averaged 11 points and seven assists, while Mac Jones (9.7 ppg) and Trey Bleck (8.6 ppg) also contributed.

Dominion Christian 41, Thomas Sumter (S.C.) 27: The Knights won a consolation game in the Garden City Classic at Augusta Prep.

Two players scored in double digits, led by Jordan Dorsey’s 14. Levi Lewallen added 11 points and nine rebounds, and Tate Cooney rebounded 10 shots.

Dominion (2-1) will face Edmund Burke today for fifth place.
