On Thursday, November 28, Bonnie Potts, 67, passed away. She is survived by her family, Ann Whitten and Tom Bourne, and Cary and Morgan Potts. She was known as Bon Bon by her much loved grandchildren; Lea and Walker Bourne, and Rolan and Charlie Potts. She is also survived by her two brothers, Clyde Warren Herren Jr (Buster) and John Douglas Herren. Bonnie was an education major at The University of Georgia and was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. In the 1970s she taught history at Dykes High School and later was an assistant in the Vasser Wooley Library and lower school at the The Lovett School. In The 1990s, she became a sales agent with Harry Norman Realtors. In every phase of Bonnie’s life she made many lasting friendships. She was enjoyable to be around and people were drawn to her. She was blessed with a keen intellect, a dry wit, and a great sense of humor. Possessing an exceptional ability to remember nonessential details, she was always a team favorite for a good game of trivia. She is deeply mourned by her family and friends, and all who loved and enjoyed her. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 4, at Vinings United Methodist Church, 3101 Paces Mill Road, 30339. A reception will follow the service at The Vinings Pace House Pavillion at 3057 Paces Mill Road.
