Obama intellectually dishonest on guns

Roger Simon’s commentary in Wednesday’s MDJ (“Obama Knows What Must Be Done, and He Must Do It”) was a shining example of the administration’s philosophy of “not wasting a good crisis.” Simon argues Americans should not look toward God or society for insights and context on the recent horrific events, but instead look toward the government to fix this “problem.” Unfortunately, many have already fallen for this government-dependence agenda.

What he fails to acknowledge, as does American society as a whole, is the presence of evil in the world. As long as people in power continue to blame guns and other inanimate objects for these tragedies, instead of the deranged and wicked perpetrators of evil, our politicians will continue to chase their tails and further waste American taxpayer’s time and money, and possibly even infringe on our constitutional rights.

You can try and take the guns out of the hands of evil people (which is a separate debate), but you are still left with evil people. Case in point, the 1927 Bath School bombing disaster in Michigan, where 38 elementary school children were killed from a farmer’s homemade bomb scheme to blow up the entire school.

Ironically, Simon uses a “straw man” argument to suggest those against reactionary gun control are “foolish” and “helpless,” yet he supports the president’s intellectually dishonest and naive promise of preventing evil acts in this world.

I guess that’s what Hope and Change do to you.

The problem is dangerous mentally ill people who need to be institutionalized in a society that believes in "fairness" and everyone being "equal".

All the recent shootings - Colorado, Phoenix, VA Tech, Columbine and Newtown - the parents knew or should have known their children were dangerous. They "supported" them by giving them money when they were unable to work and produce on their own. They were able to either buy or obtain large magazine semi-automatic weapons.

The problem with guns is parents who just do not do their jobs properly. We need media to interview and discuss the warning signs these parents missed in order to get parents of dangerous youngsters to get the help their children need. If neighbors, school teachers, counselors and church members know of any problem teens, please tell either child or adult protective services to investigate. With a record of mental health services, these kids will be prevented from buying weapons with money their parents provide them.

We would be very thankful today, had there had been an armed 'hero' waiting at the front entrance when the Newtown punk arrived, like the armed guards at Obama's daughters school.

American's seem to be fearful of their own shadow.

They better grow a set and prepare for whats to come.

You'd feel a lot differently, sir, if it had been your child who was cut to pieces in Newtown.

Americans are little sheep being led to slaughter.

With the confiscation of guns & the collapse of the dollar,.. we will no longer be a country of 'we, the people'.

Americans have lost their ability to think critically.

All you good little sheep, march right up to city hall & turn in your weapons.

Then, go to WalMart & buy a sign (made in China) & post it on your home, stating.. 'this home is a gun free home'.

Don't worry,... Big Brother has your back, as it fundamentally changes our country for good!
