MARIETTA — A local nonprofit was honored during the “Partners in Philanthropy” luncheon presented by the Cobb Community Foundation last week.

More than 300 of Cobb’s business and elected leaders attended the event with special guest Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle.

The day focused on “Philanthropy in our Community,” with the “Agency of the Year” awarded $5,000.

The nonprofit winner recognized for work in 2013 was The Extension, a program that rehabilitates homeless addicted men and women in Cobb County.

Executive Director Tyler Driver received the award on behalf of The Extension from Cagle and Community Foundations Chairman Mike Knowles.
