Marietta High School’s David DuBose was the Georgia Teacher of the Year runner­-up. The advanced music, band and instrumental music teacher placed second behind Jemelleh Coes, a special education English/language arts and reading teacher from Langston Chapel Middle School in Statesboro.

The winner was named and 10 finalists recognized during a banquet Friday night at the Georgia International Convention Center in Atlanta.
