Manning campaign fundraiser tonight; Wiles picks up endorsement

State Rep. Judy Manning (R-Marietta) invites the public to attend a fundraiser for her campaign from 5 to 7 p.m. tonight at the old Cox's printing office located at 11 Atlanta St. off Marietta Square.

Manning and landscape business owner Buddy Simpson square off in the Republican primary.

Georgia Right to Life Endorses Wiles: State Sen. John Wiles (R-Kennesaw), who is being challenged in the Republican primary by Lindsey Tippins, has been endorsed by Georgia Right to Life.

"The years ahead will bring us new opportunities to defend the civil rights of the unborn, those with disabilities and the elderly," said GRTL President Daniel C. Becker in announcing the endorsement of Wiles. "Your support and leadership in the Georgia Legislature will be absolutely essential in restoring the basic Right to Life to the most helpless members of our human family."

Candidates' forum: A candidate forum hosted by the Mableton Improvement Coalition will be conducted at 7 p.m. tonight at the South Cobb Community Center located at 620 Lions Club Drive in Mableton. The format will be 20 minutes each for the commission chairman and school board races, with two minute opening statements for each candidate, followed by Q&A. The Senate and House races will get 10 minutes each, with 1 minute opening statements, followed by Q&A.
