A criminal complaint in U.S. District Court in Jackson, Miss., says Armando Alvarado was taking four illegal Mexican immigrants from Texas to Georgia when he was pulled over in Mississippi on Aug. 23.
The complaint said Alvarado was stopped on Interstate 20 near Brandon, Miss.
Alvarado previously pleaded not guilty in the case. A court filing Monday said he intends to change his plea.
The complaint also said Alvarado has a history of smuggling illegal immigrants.
