MDJ publisher was always supportive

DEAR EDITOR: I met late MDJ publisher Otis Brumby Jr. soon after I started as Parks and Recreation director for the City of Marietta. He was always supportive during my 19 years and on occasion would invite me to visit with him in his office. He would always ask if he could do anything for me. He also gave me an opportunity to share my “Thumps Up!” mouse for 26 years in the newspaper, so I assume he enjoyed it.

My last visit with him was a couple of months ago and I told him that my Sunday school class at Marietta First Baptist was praying for him. He thanked me and said he was going to Texas for treatment. I know his cancer knew it was in for a fight. Maybe God needed help with His Heavenly newspaper.
