Sherman Argail Martin was born near Wolf Point, Montana on April 4, 1917. He went to be with the Lord on January 7, 2014 at age 96.5 years. Sherm was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Mary Emily. He is survived by 2 sons, Friday and Christopher; 2 grandchildren, Michelle Martin Scheuermann and Connor Martin; and 5 great grandchildren and, since Sherm’s parents were Montana pioneers in the early 1890’s, there’s a slew of cousins, nephews, and nieces. As a teen, he helped build the Fort Peck damn in MT. Sherm worked at Lockheed for 49 years as a Manager in Tool Planning. In the early 1950’s, he was sent from California to convert the Bell Bomber plant to the Lockheed Marietta facility. He retired in 1986 and became a member of the Lockheed Retirees’ Management Association. Sherm has been a an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marietta since 1954 serving as an usher and with the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Memorial Services will be held at the St. Joseph Catholic Church on Lacy Street in Marietta on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 1:30 PM. A Celebration of his Life will follow the service at the Marlow House on Church Street in Marietta.
