A Mableton man will serve life without parole after being convicted of his eighth felony. This was his first conviction in Cobb County.
A Cobb jury on Thursday convicted Nkoma Antoine Morgan, 32, of armed robbery, aggravated battery, burglary, and drug and firearms charges.
The charges stemmed from an April 2011 attack on an employee of a tree service at its office on River View Road in Mableton, during which Morgan beat a man severely while demanding money.
Chief Assistant District Attorney Don Geary prosecuted the case for the state.
Senior Judge Michael Stoddard presided over the trial. Due to Morgan’s history of felony convictions in other counties, he was sentenced to life without parole, plus 20 years. He is already serving a 10-year sentence for drug convictions in Douglas County.
Morgan was represented by Marietta attorney John Greco.
