Charles Thomas Laughridge, 67 of Clarkdale, passed away at his home Sunday, February 17, 2013 after fighting a courageous battle with PSP. A celebration of Charles’ life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 21st at Powder Springs First Baptist Church. The burial will follow at Mt. Harmony Memorial Gardens. The family will receive visitors from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Charles was born March 2, 1945 in Clarkdale, Georgia. He attended South Cobb High School and received a BA from Georgia State University. He received his Real Estate license in 1977 and has worked as a Commercial Real Estate Broker for the last 30 years forming his own company, Laughridge Realty. Charles was very active in the Cobb County Community, serving in the Optimist Club and an active member and held several offices in the Austell Rotary Club. Charles was an avid golfer and enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved his church family and serving in his church at Powder Springs First Baptist. He had a passion for the Lord and sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with everyone he met. Charles was preceded in death by his parents Mattie and Waits Laughridge and his granddaughter Florence. Charles is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 47 years, Gayle Cox Laughridge; son, Scott Laughridge; daughter Kimberly Greene; one grandson; six granddaughters; brothers, Neil Laughridge and Buddy Laughridge; sisters, Billie Jean White and Susan Gunter.
