Hunters don’t need automatic weapons

DEAR EDITOR:

I am a proud conservative and staunch proponent of the Second Amendment. However, I must in this instance agree with the loony left when they say that law-abiding citizens have no need for assault weapons or high-capacity magazines. Bagging a deer doesn’t require an automatic rifle — unless you want to make hamburger in the forest!

You have to ask yourself will you ever need bullets to protect your family or maybe you can just YouTube your own family being tied up and tortured by some occupying gang members at your house over the weekend; then they leave Monday morning . Remember 911 only goes so far you’re on your own until armed response gets to your house.

Bagging a deer isn't the point, may I interject respectfully. As Thomas Jefferson 200 years ago said, in so many words, and as Judge Andrew Napolitano stated quite plainly within the past couple of weeks, those guns are for a tyrannical, out of control, or out of bounds government.

If we had not attenuated the Constitution the Founders gave us, such as allowing every idiot off the street to vote, we wouldn't be in this desolate and probably fatal abyss.

Actually, Mr. Foley an Abrams tank could be taken out with improvised explosive devices like Molotov Cocktails that where used to some effect on Soviet armor during the 1956 Hungarian Uprising. And we all know IED's are the bane of our own armor in Afghanistan. The supporting ground forces that come with the Abrams could be effectively neutralized with the military type weapons now in civilian hands.
