DONALD F. HALL JR. Merritt Island, FL. Donald Fletcher Hall Jr., 92, passed away on Thursday, February 7, 2013. He was born on May 3, 1920 in Kokomo, IN. Don now resides in the arms of Jesus of whom he was a faithful servant his entire life. Don was predeceased by his parents, Donald F. Hall Sr. and Nina Ruth Pilcher Hall and his younger brother Robert Wiley Hall. He graduated from Kokomo High School, IN. and attended Purdue University and Georgia Tech. After leaving school he served as an original member of the Army’s 25th Infantry Division at Schofield Barracks, Honolulu, HI and survived the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. He also served on Guadalcanal. Don was a past President of the Brevard County Chapter of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association. Don was discharged after WWII but was recalled to duty in Germany for the Korean War. Don was a great salesman of various kinds of merchandise including clothing at Riches (now Macy’s) department store in Atlanta, shoes, bedding, carpet, bank management and marketing services, and in Atlanta as a travel agent before retiring. Don loved to play tennis his whole life and did so up until 2007 at the age of 87. One memory was Don and his son Rodney playing tennis with then Governor and former President Jimmy and son Jack Carter in Atlanta. Don and his wife Beverly Jean Wadland Hall were married for 66 years and lived in Orlando, Nashville, North Miami Beach and more than 45 years in Atlanta, GA before moving to Merritt Island, FL in 2005. Don and Beverly have been faithful members of Northside Drive Baptist Church in Atlanta, GA for over 50 years where Don served as a deacon. They traveled much of their retired life including much of Europe and the Mediterranean. Don always had a bright spirit and smile, and made friends quickly and often. Survivors include Don’s wife, Beverly W. Hall and his older brother James Ransom Hall; children, Rodney A. Hall and his wife Virginia W. Hall and grandchildren Jeffrey, Jonathan and Melissa Hall and son Roger D. Hall and his wife Elaine M. Hall and grandchildren Michelle C. Tedder, Jennifer R. Sego and David B. Hall. Don is also survived by his great-grandchildren Caytie-Beth, James, Madison, Timothy and Titus Tedder, and Savannah and Lily Sego. A memorial service will be held February 23 at 2:00 PM at Northside Drive Baptist Church in Atlanta, GA and internment will be at Georgia Memorial Park, Marietta, GA
