Goodwill of North Georgia will open the doors of its 47th store on Thursday, Feb. 20, at 9 a.m. at 2449 Cobb Parkway in Smyrna. The facility includes a store with approximately 12,500 square feet of sales floor space and drive-up donation center. The new store will create 40 new jobs in Cobb County.

“We look forward to bringing a seventh store to Cobb County and offering our unique shopping experience to more customers,” said Elaine Armstrong, Goodwill spokeswoman. “We have a store full of clothing, books, furniture and other household items ready for grand opening shoppers.”

Those who visit the store during the first four days of business, Feb. 20-23, will also have the opportunity to enter hourly drawings for Goodwill gift certificates.

Proceeds from the sale of donated goods will help support a variety of job training programs and employment services that Goodwill provides to about 40,000 north Georgians each year.
