MARIETTA - Poverty? "We're not gonna take it!" is the battle cry from Team Twisted Blister, a group of Cobb residents that run the Gobble Jog together each year.

Kathleen Kuhn Johnson, captain of the team for the 4 years in a row, sent the Journal these photos. The team is comprised of Johnson's neighbors in the Coventry Green subdivision, coworkers at USTA Georgia, USTA Atlanta and USTA Southern, and friends from around Cobb and Roswell.

Every year the Gobble group gets together the night before the race for a pre-race pasta party at the Johnson home. After distributing race bibs, t-shirts, and race bags, the crew loads up on carbs to ensure they all are at their finest form for Marietta's annual Thanksgiving event.

"We do this every year because it's a great way to give thanks for what we have, [it] benefits a great organization...and we feel better after getting a bit of exercise and then stuffing ourselves during our Thanksgiving feasts!" explains Johnson, "It's just a great way to start our Thanksgiving Day by remembering that not everyone has a house over their heads or food on the table every night...it's always fun to get together with several thousand of our closest running buddies and enjoy the scenery and beautiful homes surrounding the Marietta Square and all the festivities associated with the race!"

We want you to Gobble Jog Your Memory too; e-mail your photos and memories of your past race experiences to gobblejog@mdjonline.com.
