DEAR EDITOR:

The progressives (communists, socialists, Fabians, Alinsky radicals, and far left zealots) put together a coalition that will never be challenged again in my lifetime. The movement started a 100 years ago with the first “Progressive” — Woodrow Wilson. The movement picked up steam with FDR and really took off with LBJ’s “Great Society.“

I believe Obama was the first true “progressive” since LBJ. He most certainly is an Academic Marxist and one-world socialist. The coalition under Obama’s first four years increased substantially with 47 percent of the population on food stamps and 49 percent of the country on some form of government assistance (excluding Social Security). Add to the progressives (communists, socialists, Fabians, Alinsky radicals, and far left zealots) the entire black Democrat plantation vote; 70 percent of the Hispanic vote; the mixed race vote; the single mother vote; the union thug vote (both private sector and State and Federal); the felon vote; the pot head vote; the homosexual vote; the moron vote; and the dead people vote, all supported by the “mainstream” media, and you have a coalition that can’t be beat.

We are truly a nation divided. The conservatives and the progressives; the red states and the blue states; the makers and the moochers. The $16 trillion national debt going to $20 trillion, Christians at an all time low — 48 percent, and morals the lowest in our history. The Republic will not stand.

I’m 70 years old and I thank the good Lord I will die in a bright red county that is in a bright red state. I have seen the United States at its peak — the 1950s. I feel so said for the young people.

Steve Morris

This letter makes you sound like an old white paranoid racist homophobic freak; I hope you are not.

Mr. Morris, I'm not quite as old as you but I have kids of my own and I too have been watching the slow but steady destruction of America by the self-styled "progressives"(a few of which have predictably replied to your letter in equally predictable ways). But don't let yourself be disheartened. There are still plenty of us who share your beliefs and are passing that love of freedom and democracy and self-reliance on to our children, so there will be enough of us around when these fools eventually realize the mistakes they have made and come looking, once again, for someone to come to their aid. We will be here and we will be ready. That's something these fools will never understand but fortunately will never be able to destroy.

Hey steve,

Did you know, to build off your description of red states (makers) and blue states (moochers), that states that vote republican make up the majority of states that take more federal dollars than they give? Also, blue states have higher incomes per capita and are better educated. Actually the bottom ten educated states all voted republican. The opposite is true for the top ten.

The "kool-aid" is definitely getting stronger...

The best thing the Republicans can do to regain some credibility and power is to quit blaming their failures on everyone else. Look in the mirror.

Nut jobs like Mr. Morris - bless his heart - only make the problem and perception worse.
Too funny

Fine letter. I agree completely, and only wish to add a couple of voting blocs Steve missed: Jews, 69%; Asians, 73%. And perhaps, or probably, more importantly, the idiots on the fringe Christian Right who couldn't bring their sorry selves to vote for a Mormon. The crushing and perhaps fatal weight of this election result is on their lame shoulders.

People who think Mr. Obama is a Muslim are ludicrously mistaken. He is almost totally surrounded by far left, secular, socialist Jews. These people are the most hubristic, cynical, and mendacious folks on the planet. They mean no one any good, except themselves and their friends.

The Asian bloc should also be ashamed of themselves, but of course they're not. They keep a low profile, but game the hell out of the system. They're experts at getting goodies galore from the system.

They, along with the aforementioned bloc will ride this horse 'til it drops.

America opened its doors too wide and for too long. It's all but over, folks.

Absolutely correct. I'm still aghast that the Jewish Americans would help elect the man who hates Israel. By and large intelligent, they can't bring themselves to vote Republican so they vote for the destruction of their homeland. Yesterday, 70 rockets were fired into Israel. Obama don't care. He wants vengeance against Bibi N. and I cringe to see what he has planned. Have fun with this, my in-denial Jewish friends.

anonymous As a Jew I am American first and vote based on what I think is right for OUR country. Why should I be primarily concerned about a country I have not been to and have little relationship with? I voted for who I thought would do the best job here in my country. You have a strage way of thinging about Jews and what we think. I wounder how many other misconceptions you have. If you get your information primarily from Fox or Talk radio I am sure you have many.

This letter hits it right on the head. That the American people would elect such a man is shocking and then reelect him! No, we will not recover This is something that has been in the making for years and it will not be easy to go back to the Constitution. It will be almost impossible to get back to small government with fewer "handouts".Obama didn't dream all of this up by himself, frankly, he is not smart enough, but there are a lot of very powerful people who obviously want to change America forever. Goodbye, America, from all who loved you!
