Garbage pick-up schedules shift for New Year’s

MARIETTA — With the cities of Acworth, Austell, Kennesaw, Marietta, Powder Springs and Smyrna all being closed Tuesday in observance of New Year’s Day, the trash pick-up schedules have been shifted.

*Acworth: Household garbage will be collected on Monday and Tuesday’s collection will resume on Wednesday with the schedule for the rest of the week one day behind. Tuesday collections at commercial locations will be picked up on Wednesday and Friday.

*Austell: Household garbage will be collected as normal on Monday and recycling will be collected on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013.

*Kennesaw: Trash and recycle will be picked up Monday. No lawn debris will be collected this week.

*Marietta: No change for Monday’s service; regular Tuesday services will be picked up on Wednesday and yard waste services will be discontinued this week.

*Powder Springs: There will be no yard waste or brush collections this week.

*Smyrna: Monday, Thursday and Friday routes will remain unchanged; Tuesday routes will be picked up on Wednesday. No yard waste collection this week.
