GDOL to help recruit for new Marietta company

MARIETTA — Georgia Department of Labor is working with China Shipping Container Line, one of the largest ocean carriers in the world, to fill nearly 60 positions at its new facility in Marietta.

China Shipping’s hiring event will be Feb. 23 from 1:30 to 4 p.m. at the Courtyard Marriott, 3000 Cumberland Blvd.

China Shipping is looking to hire people in customer service imports and exports, coordinators for imports and exports, and equipment control and intermodal coordinators. The positions will be at the company’s new National Service and Operations Center, scheduled to open in Marietta by the end of March.

All applicants should have at least an associate degree and at least one year of experience in logistics, preferably with an ocean carrier, non-vessel operating common carrier, freight forwarder or customs broker. Prior experience in a call center or in customer service is a plus. Candidates should have excellent interpersonal skills, strong oral and written communication skills and have knowledge of all major Microsoft Office software.
