COBB — The 2012 Daytona 500 winner’s NASCAR show car will make appearances today in Kennesaw and Marietta. Matt Kenseth’s No. 17 NASCAR Ford Fusion show car will be on display at the from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Kennesaw Bank Mart, located at 3895 Cherokee St.

The car will then be at Roswell Bank Mart, 2100 Roswell Road in Marietta from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. The tour is part of partnership and Fifth Third Bank and Roush Fenway Racing.

Labor Department recruiting workers

MARIETTA — The Georgia Department of Labor will be filling jobs for full-time store managers and commercial account managers for Advance Auto Parts from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday at the Cobb-Cherokee Career Center, 465 Big Shanty Road in Kennesaw.

From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 17, UCall & IHaul will also interview applicants with a high school diploma or a GED and a valid Class C driver’s license and insurance, to lift and unpack household goods and furniture.

Leadership Cobb class sets record

MARIETTA — The Leadership Cobb Class of 2012 raised more than $85,000 for Blue Skies Ministries, a nonprofit that aids families of childhood cancer patients. The gift was the largest amount raised for a nonprofit than as a class project in Leadership Cobb history.

Additionally, several awards were presented to the class during the Cobb Chamber’s First Monday Breakfast. David Roskind received the Chair’s Award; Chris Bethel received the Wyman Pilcher Jr. Memorial Scholarship Award; Tom Heyer received the Serving with Passion Award; Rob Swartwood received the Ernest Barrett Award; and Tracy Rathbone received the Spirit Award.

* Terri Bunten Guthrie, vice president and chief lending officer of First Landmark Bank of Marietta, has been elected as the new Division Seven chair of the Community Bankers Association of Georgia’s Leadership Division.

* The College of Continuing and Professional Education at Kennesaw State University, 3333 Busbee Drive, will have a Career Training Expo from 6 to 8:30 p.m. July 26 at KSU Center.
