I don’t know what Pvt. Parman would have done if he had lived until today — and neither does MDJ columnist Kevin Foley — but he continues to desecrate his memory by accusing him of “condemning the tea party extremists seeking to bring a nation to its knees.”

I do know what our 18-year-old cousin, Private Lawson Palmer, would have done. He was captured in the Battle of the Bulge on Dec. 23, 1944, and died at Stalag XII A on Feb. 8, 1945, supposedly of pneumonia. He and most of the other soldiers killed in World War II gave their lives for a nation that had to incur billions of dollars in debt but paid it off as quickly as possible after the war. The tea party is merely trying to awaken an administration and its constituents who want to incur more and more debt to give more and more largesse to more and more individuals to get more and more votes to keep more and more liberals in more and more political offices to change more and more laws to change our Republic to be more and more like the socialist governments in Europe, or God help us, even more totalitarian.

This plan is what Gibbon listed as a primary reason that Rome’s economy deteriorated to the point that the strongest nation of its day fell to the ash pile of history under the weight of its misguided politics. Sound familiar?

Rome fell because of it's overreach in spreading and financing its army's over the known world (sound familiar). When George W. Bush was elected this country had a budget "SURPLUS", what happened? Where were you fiscal conservatives when GWB was running up trillions in debt? Exactly who are these individuals who expect largesse to get more and more votes to keep more and more liberals in more and more political offices? As if I didn't know.

Mr. Storey, as usual, touches all the Fox News plugged tea party talking points. Here's a clue: The United States isn't Rome. Obama has spent less money than any president since Eisenhower and the deficit is falling.

I'm sorry your cousin perished in a prison camp. But like Pvt. Parman, he gave his life for a higher ideal than what Ted Cruz is pushing on behalf of his Koch brothers benefactors.

The Koch Brothers pose no threat to this country compared with the threat posed by Obama's owner, George Soros, the champion of Marixsm and One World Government.
