Sandy Jones, festival chairperson, and six amazing moms planned for more than five weeks. Activities included a general store where parents donated baked and handcrafted items; a pumpkin-decorating contest by each grade level team and department team within; and a jail where two PTA presidents acted as sheriffs and arrested the principal, teachers and even the food cafeteria manager. Luckily, everyone participated in bailing them out.
The school’s Community Partners in Education assisted in putting on event including Kroger, Chick-Fil-A, Baked and Home Depot. Touted by many as the “best ever” event, the bar is set high and Eastvalley is ready to raise it. Plans are already in the works for next year’s festival.
