A group of East Cobb Citizen of the Year recipients and local business leaders are planning two special events for local public safety professionals.

The first celebration is an appreciation dinner in October to thank the men and women, along with their spouses, of the Cobb County Police Precinct 4.

The second event will take place in February 2014 when the group will conduct the Cobb County Fire Department's annual awards banquet.

The committee is composed of individuals from the East Cobb Business Association, the Cobb Chamber's East Cobb Area Council, past recipients of the East Cobb Citizen of the Year award and representatives from the police and fire departments. Local businesses, as well as families, school groups and civic clubs are encouraged to make donations to the cause. Sponsorship opportunities begin at $25.

For more information on these public safety celebrations, call Susan Hampton at (401) 218-6216 and Rosan Hall at (770) 335-6013. ]]>
