I know you will remain true to your beliefs, the Constitution, and the citizens of Cobb County. The majority of Cobb County has your back, Sir. Thank you for voicing your opinion.
Dear Too Funny, you're too funny and Rule of Law (good names)... All the Sheriff is saying is that there is a proper way (Rule of Law as some would say:) to enact law - executive order is not it.

The sheriff seems to think the second was written to make murder more efficient. The Minute Men of Lexington and Concord were not using AR 15s or Bushmasters, they were using muzzle loading flintlock muskets which could fire two shots per minute if the gun's owner was very fast. The general population does not need these semi automatic assault weapons, with large capacity mags. The current patchwork of gun control laws in the US are ineffective at best. Very thorough background checks must be utilized in all states, including a waiting period, including limitations and what types of guns can be purchased and the amount of ammunition. The background checks should include,checking former or current employers, family, military records, arrest records, schools attended by the buyer, credit check, drug screening. The buyer of every weapon purchased will bear the cost of these checks.
No one is attempting to take away your damned guns, so you can stop frothing at the mouth over this perceived notion.
A sherrifs position and the position of the local law enforcement is not the same as the federal government. These are people selected and elected by the local citizens and they are usually there for the best interest of the local populace. Political points? As long as they stand for the people there should be no need for political points

Although the Sheriff is a dyed in the wool Republican and hates all liberals in the Democrat party, he is still responsible for the fair treatment of all the citizens of Cobb County. I would not bet my life that he would fulfill this commitment if he had to choose between one of his so-called conservative buddies and a Democrat. He is over the hill and should take his retirement and go shoot off his guns like he does his mouth. It is funny as all get out for the Sheriff to say guns are to protect us from Government tyranny when he is the epitome of Government with all the power he has.

Does this mean you will actively oppose the federal government even the Supreme Court if they disagree with you on your interpetation of the second amendment as the majority including Scalia apparently does?
