Cherokee Co. detectives try to identify body found behind Canton Target store

CANTON —  Police are trying to identify the body of a man discovered in the woods Sunday morning. 

According to detectives, the body was found behind the Canton Marketplace around 9:30 a.m. Sunday by hunters who had permission to be on the property.

No identification was found.

Authorities believe he was in his 20s and they are calling the death suspicious. Autopsy results are expected on Tuesday.

Anyone with information should call the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office.

And your mockery of their reporting on what they were more than likely told verbatim is rude to not only the journalist but the deceased and their family.
