BLUE RIDGE — The Marietta and Cobb County communities are invited to attend a World Trade Center Artifact Dedication ceremony June 14 at 11 a.m. at Georgia Veterans Park in Blue Ridge.

This artifact is an actual piece of steel from the towers in New York City which is being given to the city of Blue Ridge by the Fire Department New York-Fire Family Transportation Foundation in memory of the attacks and also in honor of the Fannin County Schools 9/11 Memorial Chorus directed by Lois Taylor.

More than 100 members of the Combat Motorcycle Association are escorting the piece of the World Trade Center.

The group will be leaving from Robbinsville, N.C., at 8:15 a.m. with an expected arrival time of 10:30 a.m. in Blue Ridge. There will be special presentations at different stops along the way.
