MARIETTA — A Cartersville man has been convicted of armed robbery for his role in taking $800 from a man on Franklin Road last summer.

Larry Charles Bell, 33, made a videotaped confession to Marietta Police that he was the gunman and that he received part of the money taken from the victim. Jurors deliberated only a short time Friday before finding Bell guilty.

Cobb Superior Court Judge Lark Ingram presided over the trial, which began late Monday with jury selection. Sentencing will be at a later date.

A codefendant, Rashad Jamal Rush, pleaded guilty in December and was sentenced to 20 years with 11 to serve, said Kim Isaza, spokesman for Cobb District Attorney Vic Reynolds.
