House legislation designed to make life easier for illegal aliens to access public benefits in Georgia defeated in the state Senate

Perhaps one of the most deceptive bills of the season, House Bill 1051 (Tom Dickson, R, Dalton) flew through the Georgia House early in the 2014 General Assembly, but was killed in the Senate after some basic educational work and political pressure was applied. The ACCG/GMA/ACLU anti-enforcement coalition has remained publicly silent in their failure to slip this one through the system.

Pro-enforcement Americans gain a small, likely temporary, victory in Nathan Deal’s Republican-ruled Georgia. You can see how your own state Rep and state Senator voted on the bottom.

It should be noted that DACA illegal aliens (“Deferred action does not provide an individual with lawful status”) are accessing most taxpayer-funded Georgia public benefits, including state issued ID cards and drivers licenses and also

Last week  the Republican-controlled Georgia Senate confirmed Republican Governor Nathan Deal’s appointment of GALEO’s anti-enforcement leftist Ms. Rocio Del Milagro Woody to the state’s Board of Corrections.

While referring to illegally present aliens as “immigrants” and immigration enforcement as “anti-business,” Deal’s newly appointed corrections board member Del Milagro Woody has publicly spoken-out against  immigration enforcement, the federal 287(g) program, the proven effective attrition through enforcement concept and complained that immigration law in Arizona “has encouraged Georgia politicians to claim that illegal immigration is costing jobs and threatening the economy.”

The vote for confirmation of the list of the Governor’s appointments was 39 “YEA” - *13 “NAY” and 4 not voting. You can see how your own state Senator voted on the official Senate vote record, which is HERE.

*NOTE: Senator Judson Hill originally voted “NAY” but has since asked the Secretary of the Senate to change the record to reflect a “YEA” vote to confirm Rocio Del Milagro Woody to a five-year term on the corrections board.

It is important to know that the Senate had the ability to consider Woody’s name separately from the other names on Deal’s list of appointees.

The Republican Majority Leader moved to dispense with the reading of the list of appointments. There were no objections to the motion or the inclusion of Rocio Del Milagro Woody’s appointment and the motion passed.

VIDEO: If you want to watch the short Senate video archive of this vote, it is HERE . Debate at 211:30 . Vote at 218:00.

Last week the same Republican-controlled Georgia Senate voted down an amendment to legislation that would have ended the issuance of drivers licenses to illegal aliens. You can see how your own state Senator voted on that disgraceful issue HERE.

A Senate Resolution that would have allowed Georgia voters to answer a November ballot question on amending the state constitution making English the official language of government and ending the current practice of offering the written drivers license test in 11 language other than English was not allowed to escape from Senate Rules committee. The same resolution passed in Oklahoma in 2010 by 76%.

All of this is due to the orders from the Chamber of Commerce and big business.

Welcome to Republican-ruled Georgiafornia.!

Upon educated constituent’s complaints to some Republican Georgia state Senators, we are hearing that the Senators are telling constituents that they had no choice on voting on the confirmation of Rocio Del Milagro Woody, because the Governor’s List of Appointments was “presented in a bundle.” This is not true. As you can see on the video, the Senators  waived the individual reading of the names on the list.

They knowingly voted to create a “bundle” after having been educated on Gov. Nathan Deal’s appointment of this leftist Democrat.

Also, some Senators are claiming to have known nothing about Rocio Del Milagro Woody or that her name was on the list of appointees. This would be alarming if it were true, because it means that they blindly voted on confirmation to an important state position.

But, they did have an education on Woody: I personally stood at the door of the Republican Senate Caucus meeting the week before they voted an handed out a printed copy of the above Breitbart News article linked above.

VIDEO Keeping score at Georgia’s Republican-controlled state Senate:

Who voted to continue to allow illegal aliens to obtain and keep Georgia drivers licenses?

Ever ask yourself what really goes on under the Gold Dome? Here’s something. There is a link to official video at the bottom. See if you recognize anyone.

With a Republican-super majority, on March 3, 2014 -“Cross-over Day” - the Georgia state Senate voted on an amendment to legislation related to drivers licenses. Republican state Senator Bill Heath, unable to move his own bill out of the Senate Rules Committee, attempted to attach the same language to SB 392.

The amendment’s addition would have stopped the issuance of drivers licenses to illegal aliens who have benefitted from Obama’s illegal delayed action on deportation DACA amnesty. It is important to know that the DACA  illegal aliens are still illegal aliens.

The Heath Amendment, with co-signers Senators Mike Crane, John Albers, Josh McKoon, William Ligon and Judson Hill, failed by a vote of 27-8. There are 56 state Senators. 38 Republicans, 18 Democrats. For the Obama-voters, this vote shows that 21 members of the Senate did not vote.

NOTE: This vote was not tallied on the public Senate vote machine and was done by a “stand and be counted” hand vote that was not officially recorded. Handy, ehh?

A “YEA” vote was in favor of illegal aliens losing the ability to access a Georgia drivers license. A “NAY” vote on the amendment was a vote to continue to allow illegal aliens to have a Georgia drivers license.

*Georgia state Senators voting “YEA” on the amendment (all Republicans):

Bill Heath

Steve Gooch

Josh McKoon

Judson Hill

Don Balfour

John Albers

William Ligon

David Shafer

*Officially excused from the Senate floor during this important vote:

Mike Crane

Tim  Golden

Donzella James  (D)

Jeff  Mullis

Bruce Thompson

Renee Unterman

*Subtracting the “YEA” votes and the excused list of excused senators (who did not vote) gives us the list of Georgia state Senators who voted “NAY” on the amendment. Or did not vote. This is called “walking” on a vote so as not to offend anyone politically.

What would real “Immigration Reform” look like?

The below is a press release from the Federation for American Immigration Reform on what real, principled “immigration reform” would do for Americans. What a concept, huh?

I’ll add two points:

1) The nationally suicidal extension of birthright citizenship to children born to illegal aliens should be challenged and overturned. 2) And adopting English as the official language of these United States would go a long way towards uniting the most diverse nation in the world. Si?

This ought to keep the anti-enforcement nuts babbling for a few days. Have fun!

From FAIR:

Principled Immigration Reform Puts Americans First

PR Newswire

House GOP Leaders Must Rule Out Amnesty and Increased Immigration, Says FAIR

WASHINGTON, Jan. 15, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Under the leadership of Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio), House Republicans are drafting a set of immigration reform principles to guide them as they debate immigration in 2014. They plan to release these principles in time for their January 29th GOP retreat.

At the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), we hope these principles will finally place the interests of Americans first – an idea that is conspicuously absent from the reforms being proposed by the leaders of either party.

FAIR's core principles for immigration reform are:

No more amnesties. We can create clever euphemisms, but the only people we will be fooling are ourselves. Any policy that legalizes illegal aliens is amnesty and will lead to even more illegal immigration. This includes any "pathways to citizenship" or legalization programs that grant green cards or work visas.

Secure our borders. The last time our government measured border security, only 13 percent of our borders are under "operational control." That is simply unacceptable. To get the job done, we must use all the tools at our disposal. We must put more boots on the ground, add infrastructure (such as fencing) and implement proven technology to reduce the flow of illegal aliens across the border.

End visa overstays. Approximately 30-40 percent of illegal aliens are aliens who entered the U.S. legally, but overstayed their visas. To end this practice, we must add Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents and finally implement a biometric entry-exit system at all ports of entry—a system already required by law.

Stop the hiring of illegal workers. Unless we remove the incentives to enter the U.S. illegally, we will not stop illegal immigration. We must eliminate the jobs magnet by requiring all employers use E-Verify and demand rigorous worksite enforcement that holds both employers and illegal workers accountable.

Robustly and uniformly enforce our immigration laws. Policies that direct law enforcement to ignore violations of our laws undermine the rule of law and are inherently unjust to law-abiding legal immigrants. We must enforce our existing immigration laws, eliminate fraud throughout the system, and prohibit the adoption of policies by state/local governments that encourage illegal immigration or provide benefits to illegal aliens. Enforcement doesn't require mass deportation. If we enforce our laws and remove the incentives to remain here, many illegal aliens will go home on their own.

Implement a merit-based immigration system. Our immigration system should choose immigrants based on an objective assessment of who is most likely to benefit the economic and social interests of our nation.

End family chain migration. Family-based immigration must be limited to spouses and unmarried minor children. Entitlements for extended family migration lead to an immigration system that is not based on merit, runs on autopilot and fosters exponential growth in immigration.

Support the American worker. American workers are the best and most productive in the world. They are eager to work. What they need is the opportunity to compete for jobs at fair wages, not unfair competition created by massive guest worker programs. In addition, just because we could benefit from some skilled immigration doesn't mean we should rubber stamp visas for every applicant with certain skills. We should develop and encourage our own STEM professionals, not discourage them by flooding the labor market.

Limit overall immigration. We are a nation of over 315 million people. We need to consider how much we want to grow and how that growth will affect jobs, our environment, resources and quality of life in America.

About FAIR

Founded in 1979, FAIR is the country's largest immigration reform group. With over 250,000 members nationwide, FAIR fights for immigration policies that serve national interests, not special interests. FAIR believes that immigration reform must enhance national security, improve the economy, protect jobs, preserve our environment, and establish a rule of law that is recognized and enforced.

@DA King: There is a very good article on today's The Daily Beast involving the failure of Alabama HB 86, this legislation has been described as the toughest anti-immigration law in the country.

What has happened, the AL Legislator has written a check that the cities and towns won't or can't cash.

DA, perhaps the failure of this legislation could be the topic of your next interview with a Spanish language TV station.

English language version, VIDEO, 12 minutes: Univision’s Jorge Ramos interviews D.A. King (me) of the Georgia-based Dustin Inman Society. Original version aired in Spanish on the August 18, 2013 edition of the ‘Al Punto,” Univision’s Sunday morning current affairs show.

We are grateful to Mr. Ramos and the Univision network for the opportunity to reveal the pro-enforcement side of the amnesty battle. We note that the MSM should take a moment to consider similar allowance. Mr. Ramos’ well-done website is very educational.

From that website  :

“Jorge Ramos…has been called “Star newscaster of Hispanic TV” and “Hispanic TV’s No. 1 correspondent and key to a huge voting bloc” by The Wall Street Journal. Time magazine included him in the list of “the 25 most influential Hispanics in the United States” and Newsweek in its list of 50 political and media figures…

A survey conducted by the Pew Hispanic Center found that Ramos is the second most recognized Latino leader in the country. Latino Leaders magazine chose him as one of “The Ten Most Admired Latinos” and “101 Top Leaders of the Latino Community in the U.S.”

“Ramos is like an amalgam of Brian Williams and Keith Obermann, though with more gravitas than either.” (The Daily Beast)

The Miami Herald said, “As household names go, Jorge Ramos is huge…in Miami, Los Angeles and Houston, his newscast consistently beats out all the other networks for the top ratings”. More than 2 million people tune in daily to his newscast and almost a million to his Sunday morning political show. (The Nielsen Company)

He has interviewed some of the most influential leaders in the world: Barack Obama, John McCain, George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, Sarah Palin, Harry Reid, Newt Gingrich, Mitt Romney, John Edwards, Al Gore, George Bush Sr., John Kerry, Fidel Castro, Hugo Chávez, Felipe Calderon and dozens of Latin American presidents.

Jorge Ramos is an immigrant. He came to the United States as a student in 1983. In November 1986, at age 28, he became one of the youngest national news anchors in the history of American television… “

We happily make the Spanish language version available For our foreign language speaking friends.

Thank you Jorge Ramos! Muchas Gracias sir!

Julia, the imaginary illegal alien (if only they all were) and her adventures speak volumes about illegals and pandering politicians.

See Julia’s adventures. Hat tip: Center for Immigration Studies and The Blaze.

BTW: Illegal aliens are living so deep in the shadows that they were on hand in the Senate galleries for this Thursday’s 68-32 vote for the Schumer-Rubio amnesty bill, and they yelled out Obama's campaign chant when the vote was announced.

Both Georgia’s GOP U.S. Senators voted against the Rubio led amnesty scam.

Here is another chance to hear the truth about the Senate amnesty scam. And to find out what the agenda-driven MSM has been hiding from you.

So, did you already know the amnesty bill would allow the leftists to help guide, “educate” and supervise the would-be replacement voters if the scam were to pass? And that they would be paid for it with tax dollars? Wait- did you know that already deported aliens could come back to the good old USA and be legalized, then bring in their families? That is true!  Funny that our U.S. Senators haven’t made a fuss about that isn’t it?

FYI: The Senate will likely have a final vote on the legislation to end immigration enforcement next week. Neither Georgia Senator has picked a side. No kidding.

From the Daily Caller an educational video you won’t see on “the news.” : (just) “Six big problems with the immigration bill from someone who has actually read it.”

“Former New York lieutenant governor Betsy McCaughey bets “you can’t find five members of Congress who have read” the Senate “Gang of Eight” immigration bill.

The former Democrat is experienced at  reading large bills the Congress seems inclined to pass without reading, such as Obamacare. She tabs them, underlines them and tries to see the big picture of what will happen if the provisions of the bill are implemented.

In an interview with The Daily Caller’s Ginni Thomas, McCaughey brought her dog-eared immigration bill with her and pointed to it repeatedly.”

Watch the video!

Call both Senators!

The Democrat controlled Senate will begin consideration of the Schumer – Rubio amnesty sometime today and could vote on it as early as next week. It cannot pass without some GOP votes.

Barack Obama is pushing the bill and assuring Republicans that another amnesty will help their party. Because, as we all know, helping the GOP is tops on Obama’s agenda!

Some Republicans, maybe including both Georgia Senators, will vote for the bill.

We think a picture is indeed worth a thousand words.

Here is info for the people who keep calling us asking what to do: contact Senator Johnny Isakson at his Atlanta office. Please know the illegal alien lobby has been calling for six months.

@Robert: It has been demonstrated for many years that the anti immigration legal efforts have not been successful. That's why we have millions and millions of undocumented immigrants here. Are you following this? A point which you and others have clearly missed over and over. What you and others continue to say is, "enforce the laws". You and others have NOT made any unique suggestions, if you are going to complain then make some suggestions involving a solution. Since you and others don't make viable suggestions but do whine about the problem that qualifies all of you as "cry babies".

You are finished.

People are (finally) starting to ask questions about the Schumer-Rubio amnesty legislation that will soon be considered on the floor of the U.S. Senate. The word is that there will be a final vote sometime around June 10. Maybe you have noticed by now: The MSM is doing a stellar job of passing on the talking points from the open borders lobby, but a poor job of allowing the average American to understand the actual bill.

It is a scam that would legalize 11-20 million now undocumented Democrats and would not  result in “secure borders.” Making it a  do-over of 1986, only this time it’s is even worse.

So, for anyone who wants to have the facts, we provide a link to “Top 40 Reasons to Oppose the Gang of Eight Amnesty Bill“, from FAIR.” The truth about the bill comes off a little different than the Marco Rubio radio ads produced by “conservative” Mark Zuckerburg, doesn’t it? What’s that? You haven’t been told that Rubio’s media crusade is funded by liberal Facebook billionaire Mark Zuckerberg who wants ever cheaper computer/tech workers?? Hmm..

Stay tuned: Next, we explore how U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson may vote on the 2013 amnesty-again scam.

Since the posting of this article, I have asked multiple people here, including Marie, Robert and Roger to give us some of their suggestions regarding immigration control, other than the usual, "enforce the laws". NOT ONE suggestion from any of the aforementioned. We are now left with the understanding, that the "wingers" are whiners without any kind of a new concept to a very old problem.

The whining is the best the "right" can do, they whined their way to a "smackdown" in 2008 and they whined their way to a second significant loss in 2012. The 2012 loss came as a big surprise to folks like Karl Rove and the cast of misfits at Fox.
