Calvin Bernard Hill, 35, was arrested Dec. 28 by Cobb County Sheriff’s deputies on charges of felony armed robbery, burglary and kidnapping.
According to the warrant, Hill is accused of kidnapping a man at an apartment in the 700 block of Wood Hollow Drive off Powers Ferry Road in Marietta on Feb. 29, 2012.
“The suspect forced the victim into his apartment, into the bathroom, and then the suspect bound the victim’s wrists and ankles with zip ties,” the warrant states.
While tied up, Hill spent about 30 minutes stealing the victim’s 37-inch television, gaming machine, smart phone, GPS device, CD player, speakers and his 1985 Chevrolet Caprice.
Sgt. Dana Pierce with the Cobb Police said the vehicle was recovered about a week after the burglary at an apartment complex near South Cobb Drive in Smyrna but found stripped of its parts.
The warrant also states that the victim believes his ex-girlfriend, who is also the mother of his child, was involved in the incident.
“The victim advised that prior to the armed robbery, he had been involved in a heated argument with (her), and the victim began to suspect her involvement,” the warrant states. “It was also determined that the ex-girlfriend had asked what time the victim would be arriving home.”
Pierce said detectives could not reveal any information regarding other details of the case, nor could he speak about whether the ex-girlfriend is under investigation. Additionally, he said investigators could not say if the victim and suspect knew each other before the incident.
