Lucinda “Lucy” Ramondetta, CPP, is the new instructor for the PayTrain Fundamentals program, which starts July 8 and runs through Sept. 9, at KSU’s College of Continuing and Professional Education.
Ramondetta is the president of the Atlanta chapter of the American Payroll Association and became a Certified Payroll Professional in 2001. She has more than 20 years of experience in the payroll industry as a business services manager, payroll manager and senior implementation consultant.
“In today’s market, it is important for payroll professionals to equip themselves with the knowledge necessary to stay up to date with the latest trends and regulations impacting payroll,” Ramondetta said. “A certification in payroll gives payroll practitioners a significant edge over job seekers who lack certification.”
The Paytrain Fundamentals program and PayTrain Mastery program, which starts Jan. 13 and runs through March 31, 2015, comprise the Payroll Professional Certificate, a new offering from the College of Continuing and Professional Education in partnership with the American Payroll Association.
The program is designed for all levels of payroll adminis-tration as well as those interested in preparing for the Fundamental Payroll Certification or Certified Payroll Professional certification exams.
Students in the PayTrain program will receive training on topics such as payroll concepts, paycheck calculations, record-keeping and payroll calculations, and management and administration.
The Fundamentals course is recommended for people new to the payroll industry or who need formal training, FPC exam candidates or payroll professionals needing recertification credits.
The Mastery course is recommended for payroll departments requiring compliance training, payroll professionals seeking professional development, CPP exam candidates or those needing recertification credits.
