Allatoona HS to stage 15 youth summer camps

ACWORTH — Allatoona High School has 15 summer camps planned for kids as young as 4 years old and up to 15 years old.

To kick off the camp season, the school will play host to a boys lacrosse camp for rising eighth-graders May 20-22 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Little Bucs cheerleaders will be on campus in the gym from 9 to 11:30 a.m. June 3-6. Registration is $75 before May 29 and $95 after. Each camper will receive a T-shirt and photo with the Allatoona High cheerleaders.

The kids will learn cheers, stunts and dances from the high school cheerleaders, and parents will be able to watch performances on the last day of camp. Registration forms are available at

Also June 3-6, baseball players ages 7-13 will learn the fundamentals of throwing, fielding and hitting, along with developing positive attitudes and hustle. The baseball camp will be from 9 a.m. until noon. Cost hasn’t been determined.

Tennis activists from kindergarten through fourth grade will meet from 9 to 10 a.m., and fifth- through eighth-grade players will meet from 10 a.m. until noon June 3-6. More information will be available at at a later date.

Volleyball players from fourth through eighth grade will gather from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. June 3-6. More registration information will be available at www.ahsbucs/volleyball at a later date.

Young Buc football players from rising kindergarteners through rising fifth- graders will take their place in Buccaneer Stadium from 6 to 8 p.m. June 3-6. More information will be available at

The next week, June 10-13, will bring four more sets of campers. Boys and girls strength and speed camp will go from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on June 11, 13, 18, 20, 25 and 27. The camp will be through the football program.

Girls softball will welcome rising third- through eighth-graders from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Campers will learn fundamentals for infield and outfield positions, throwing, hitting, bunting and slapping. All campers will be evaluated for skill level and placed into groups with others at similar levels.

The softball camp is $90 per camper and includes a T-shirt. Registration forms are available at

Boys basketball will conduct a camp June 10-13 and July 8-10 for ages 6-13 from 9 a.m. until noon in June and 6-8 p.m. in July. More information will soon be available at

On the same days, girls lacrosse meets from 9 a.m. until noon. The camp is for girls ages 5-14.

June 17-20, girls basketball and girls soccer will meet on campus. The basketball camp is for ages 6-13 from 9 a.m. until noon, and soccer is from 9 a.m. until noon for ages 10-14. There are only spots for 25 soccer players.

July 15-18 brings an air rifle camp from 9 a.m. until noon for ages 11-15. More information will soon be available at

Camp season will end with a session July 22-25 for middle school football. The session will be from 6 to 8 p.m. for rising sixth- through eighth-graders in Buccaneer Stadium.

I totally support this and the positivity. There is so much parental negativity. Let this teach children to teach adults.
