Marietta Square Farmers Market

Sixty-plus vendors selling each weekend home grown vegetables, cheese, bread, eggs, fresh flowers, local honey, baked goods, meat, mushrooms and milk. This Saturday’s feature is pasture raised pork fed and finished on Non-GMO feed from PointSixFour Farm. This Sunday’s feature is baklava, spinach pies, meat pies, pita bread, walnut cake, pistachio cookies, dolmades and specialty Greek foods from BLU Specialty Catering. This weekend is also the last Sunday market until April. The Saturday market will continue as usual, year round.

WHEN: Saturdays, 9 a.m. to noon, and Sundays, noon to 3 p.m.

The Marietta Square Artists Market is a fine arts juried market that showcases the best of local work, rain or shine. This weekend will be the last weekend for the Artists Market until April.

Swift-Cantrell Skatepark Ribbon Cutting

A ribbon cutting ceremony for the official opening of Kennesaw’s Swift-Cantrell Skatepark with remarks by Kennesaw Mayor Mark Mathews, Joe Ciaglia of California Skateparks, Brian Moore of SITE Design Group and others. Skateboarders will have the opportunity to try out the features of the new 40,000-square foot all-concrete permanent skatepark facility, which consists of a Street League plaza as well as more traditional flow course and bowl – which provides challenges for skateboarders of all skill levels. The skatepark will be capable of hosting local, regional and world-class competitions and exhibitions. Members of the local outfitter Ambush Board Company’s skate team will be on hand with Red Bull’s MXT event vehicle. There will be music, merchandise giveaways and raffles along with food vending on site. A limited edition of Swift-Cantrell Skatepark t-shirts will also be available for purchase. The skatepark is open daily from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. and there is no charge to use the facility. In case of severe weather, the ribbon cutting will be Nov. 25.

28th Annual Cobb County Gem & Mineral Society’s Gem, Mineral & Jewelry Show

The 28th Annual Cobb County Gem & Mineral Society’s Gem, Mineral and Jewelry Show will feature a large selection of beads, rocks, gemstones, minerals and fossils from all over the world along with jewelry and jewelry making supplies. There will also be faceting and jewelry making demonstrations, interesting displays and hourly door prizes.
