The group is putting on a “Boob-B-Q” in Woodstock Park at City Center from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., with all proceeds going to the Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk for a Cure.
RESA Atlanta will be sending a team of five women to the 3-Day Walk for A Cure, and each participant is tasked with raising $2,300 to participate.
The funds raised at Wednesday’s event will help team members reach their goal. The group says it is well on the way to reaching the goal, with only $7,000 total to go
The Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk for the Cure is a 60-mile walk over three days in October to help raise funds and awareness for breast cancer, which affects one in eight women.
The Boob-B-Q meal is $10 and includes a barbecue chicken “breast” or pork sandwich, side and beverage from J. Miller’s Smokehouse, (formerly Beetle’s BBQ), of Woodstock. In addition, a dessert donated by Publix is included in the donation price.
The event will feature face-painting, bubbles and more for the young ones in attendance.
Those attending are asked to wear pink items, T-shirts and more to show in “Support of,” in “Honor of,” or in “Memory of,” those who have or are battling the disease.
Live entertainment will be presented by Christopher Reece.
