Patriotism 07/02/2008

Gas prices have crept past the $4 a gallon mark at many pumps in Marietta and Cobb County, with no guarantees they won't soon be higher. Jeremiah Wright, shows that Obama likely differs only in style, not in substance, from the likes of Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton.

Now that Arizona U.S. Sen. John McCain has wrapped up the GOP presidential nomination, he must turn to the business of selecting a running mate. And who should that be? Among the names being bandied about are those of Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, South Carolina U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham, Rudy Giuliani, Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee.

TAD blog 02/18/2008
The Georgia Supreme Court ruled last week that local governments cannot use school tax revenues to help underwrite redevelopment efforts via Tax Allocation District subsidies. Those subsidies have proven highly controversial in Marietta and Cobb in recent years, as regular MDJ readers know.
